Research Opportunities

Finding a Research Opportunity

There are many ways to learn about basic and applied biomedical research going on at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM). If you are a first time visitor to UPSOM and its programs, or a student interested in applying to the School of Medicine, we recommend that you first view the information provided at www.medschool.pitt.edu/research/index.aspx. There you can learn about department- and institute-based research and investigate the interests of individual faculty.

If you are a current student at UPSOM, log on to the Medical Student Research Portal (http://zone.medschool.pitt.edu/research/Pages/default.aspx) The Portal provides a gateway for learning about specific areas of research, identifying potential mentors, and learning details of various programs.
