Alda Maria Gonzaga, MD, MS, FAAP, FACP

Dr. Alda Maria Gonzaga is a Professor of Medicine and of Pediatrics, and the Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM).   Prior to this appointment she served as the Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Program Director for 12 years and was an Advisory Dean at UPSOM for 5 years. She is the founder of the Progressive Evaluation and Referral Center (PERC), a clinical program to care for adolescents and adults with pediatric onset complex health care needs. Her educational focuses are in creating diverse and inclusive work environments and faculty development around mentorship across differences. She has presented workshops on increasing the diversity of the physician workforce as several national meetings including the ACGME, the Association of Pediatric Program Directors, the Medicine-Pediatrics Program Directors Association, and the Association Program Directors in Internal Medicine. Dr. Gonzaga has received numerous awards in the medical community. Dr. Gonzaga received her B.A. Degree in Biological Chemistry from Wellesley College, her M.D. degree from the University of Pittsburgh and her Master of Science in Medical Education from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.  Dr. Gonzaga is the mom of two beatiful daughters, married to Dr. Ankur Doshi, wtih whom she couples matched with and she loves to crochet!
